ISA-SAIT Student Section

Latest News & Updates For ISA-SAIT

The ISA-SAIT Section organizes a variety of events over course of the academic year. Here are some of our biggest events:

Resume Night

Knowing how to write a professional, effective resume is a crucial skill. Learn the importance of keywords and structure. Tailor your resume to pass screening systems and get your foot in the door!

Industry Night

The most important night of your life. Interact with industry professionals as they talk about their company, entry-level jobs, and the inner workings of the industry. Make a positive impression on employers to increase your chance of landing that elusive first job.

Each company is provided with a table. Students converse in groups with company representatives in 10 to 15 minute intervals. This format lets you meet a wide variety of employers over the course of the night.

There’s no need to bring your resumes! A binder and thumb drive of all student resumes are compiled and presented to each industry attendee before the event.

World Student Games

At the World Student Games, we host some of the best instrumentation institutions in the world in this multi-day event.

Participants are split into teams consisting of 1 SAIT student and 3-4 students from various other institutions. Each team is graded on their ability to communicate, work as a team, and solve instrumentation-related challenges. These challenges are based around six general topics:

  • Distributed Control Systems
  • Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition
  • Cascade Loop Tuning
  • Maintenance
  • Flow Meters and Measurement Devices
  • Analyzers

Overall, the goal of this event is to put everything you’ve learned to practical use, to network with people from other schools, and most importantly, to have fun.
