We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting an Instrumentation Student Games on March 23, 2013 at SAIT Polytechnic from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This event is happening thanks to a generous sponsorship by Shell Canada and the ISA Calgary Chapter. The games will consist of 5 activities pertaining to the field of industrial instrumentation, including instrument set-up, calibration, and programming. We have two confirmed guest teams coming to participate: SIAST (Saskatchewan) and NAIT (Edmonton). The purpose of the games is to bring together instrumentation students from different schools and push their knowledge and abilities as they complete the tasks. The teams will be mixed between schools and team work will be necessary in order to be successful. Participants will have the opportunity to work in a simulated work environment and learn what it’s like to be under pressure.

We also have a confirmed guest speaker – Will Gadd. Will is a professional outdoorsman, a Red Bull athlete in paragliding and ice climbing. Will excels in overcoming difficulties in the wilderness and will be giving a presentation on risk assessment in sports and in industry. This presentation will be happening during the lunch hour of the games.

The Student Games are a free event and are open to anyone to attend.
